Maiko Morishita

Maiko joined Climate Bonds as Japan Programme Manager in September 2022, on secondment from the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES). In her role as Programme Manager for the Finance Taskforce at IGES, her recent work has centered on research and supporting relevant government agencies on sustainable finance policies in Japan.

Maiko has over 20 years of experience at the intersection of social/environmental issues and the role of public/private finance. Before joining IGES in 2019, she served as the Deputy Executive Director of Oxfam Japan, overseeing policy advocacy work addressing issues including climate and development finance, agriculture, gender, and inequality. Maiko is a graduate of Keio University, and began her career as an investment banking analyst before transitioning to the development sector.

Maiko is based in Hayama, Japan.
