Ana Diaz

Dr. Ana Diaz is the Global energy transition lead at Climate Bonds, Ana is responsible for paving the way to a credible, rapid and ambitious energy decarbonization pathway in climate Bonds, through the development of robust sustainability standards for the energy sector, but also promoting regulatory framework at regional level. The Sector Criteria support the Climate Bonds Taxonomy and Standards to ensure alignment with the broader Climate Bonds climate resilience agenda (including, physical, social, economic and ecosystem resilience).

Sector Criteria require usable Mitigation & Adaptation and Resilience criteria and/or assessment frameworks for capital investments, assets, economic activities, and companies in all major sectors of relevance to capital markets.



Ana has more than 20 years of international work experience in applying science and innovation to low-carbon energy transition, contributing to the design of national and regional energy strategies and provided decarbonization plans.



Ana holds an industrial engineering degree from the University of Dresden, Germany, and a PhD in energy engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy. Her technical expertise includes energy technologies, energy system analysis and related climate impacts.



Ana’s background includes to work for 10 years at the private sector, developing technology solutions for sustainability. She also spent 6 years as a senior scientific officer for the directorate on energy, transport, and climate of the European Commission, where she served with scientific and technical evidence on energy, transportation, and climate policies in the European Union’s transition to a carbon-neutral society.
