Agri-Food Advisory Group

Status: Agri-Food transitions Criteria development has now commenced. Deforestation, Crop and Livestock production, and Value Supply Chain will be first under development and due to be available for Certification under the Climate Bonds Standard. The proposed new criteria will build upon existing Agriculture Criteria, which can already be used to certify assets and activities. The revised/updated criteria will include expanded scope allowing for the certification of entities and Sustainability Linked Bonds (SLBs) based on transition pathways in these sectors. The Criteria also broaden the existing scope of the current agriculture criteria beyond including climate mitigation to having a greater focus on climate adaptation and resilience, land use change, biodiversity, water use, quality, food loss and waste, circularity, and just transition.

The purpose of the Agri-Food Advisory Group is to support the Agri-food System Transitions Programme in developing consensus around transition narrative and pathways both within the group and with broader stakeholders through their own networks and activities. The Group is made up of scientific and academic experts in agri-food systems, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and international bodies, policy experts, financial institutions, and investors:
