Systems and practices for agricultural transition
Agriculture is a dynamic and complex system, composed of countless particular characteristics that defy standardization and common definitions. Hundreds of cultivated crops and a wide array of systems and practices are employed in different geographical locations with diverse social, environmental and economic landscapes. This scenario requires that any intervention made in the sector should be context-specific.
A large number of systems is reported in literature, but this report considers four of the most representative examples that align with the broad concept of sustainable agriculture, although it should be noted that the sustainability of any system is dependent on the actual implementation.
