Zalina Shamsudin

Head of Technical Assistance and Capacity Building

With a career that spans more than 28 years, predominantly in corporate advisory; with work experience in six countries throughout Asia, the Middle East, and the Indian sub-continent. Zalina has been a strong advocate for sustainable finance in the last eight years.

Her primary area of strength is market development through positioning and creating opportunities for new markets and product innovation. In her last role with the Securities Commission Malaysia, she was pivotal in the creation of capacity development programs that looked at building the financial sector’s technical expertise and experience in sustainable finance. A major focus was also to support industry and regulator’s effort to build recognition of Islamic Finance as responsible finance.
She holds an MBA in Finance from CASS Business School of the UK and is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA).
 

Nathalie Villahoz

Senior Programme Specialist

Nathalie has been Project Manager in the Programmes and Projects Office in Climate Bonds Initiative since March 2020. She is originally from Argentina. Her background is in Social Communication, and she has been managing research projects in different fields since 2003:

●      As Project Coordinator for the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) in Brussels

●      Managing the Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) Genome Project, a Spanish Consortium of 8 institutes participating in the International Cancer Genome (ICGC) in Barcelona

●      And working for Dr Elias Campo and his research group at Hospital Clinic of Barcelona for 9 years, managing all type of projects: national and regional grants, European and International grants.

As project manager her goal is to facilitate the dynamics of the projects and to ensure the successful delivery of the project outputs and their completion in terms of reporting.

Nathalie is based in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Karthik Iyer

Principal Advisor

Karthik works as Senior Advisor for  Climate Bonds Initiative with a focus on India and Asia. He is an innovative Investments and Capital Markets Industry professional with solid experience in Green Finance, Asset Management, Banking and Capital Markets, Throughout his career, Karthik has been operating at a senior level in the Financial Services sector in an international environment.

Karthik was previously Commercial Director at Climate Bonds Initiative in London and a member of the Senior Management team.

Wenhong Xie

Head of China Programme

Wenhong Xie is Head of China Programme at Climate Bonds Initiative, and based in Beijing. He is responsible for leading the management and development of CBI’s projects and business in mainland China. In addition to managing research projects and liaising with government agencies, multilateral organizations, verifiers, underwriters and institutional investors, Wenhong also provides advice on green bond issuance and certification to support potential green bond issuers such as banks, state-owned enterprises, municipalities, and large corporates.

Prior to joining CBI, he worked as an economist at Tsinghua’s Center for Finance and Development (led by Dr. Ma Jun) and a consultant for the International Finance Corporation, in addition to a number of think tanks and NGOs in environment and international development. Wenhong has a M.A. in International Policy Studies from Stanford University, and a B.A. in History from Hampshire College. 

 

 

 

 

Phi Thi Minh Nguyet (Moonie)

Sustainable Debt Analyst

Phi Thi Minh Nguyet (or Moonie Phi) is currently a Sustainable Debt Analyst with the Markets Intelligence team. She initiatlly joined Climate Bonds Initiative as a Research Analyst in September 2019, after 8 years working in the banking and financial sector in Vietnam.  

Moonie primarily works around CBI's Social and Sustainability (SnS) Bond Database, providing data analysis and UoPs analysis for SnS bonds. 

Moonie holds an MSc in Banking and Finance at Sheffield Hallam University and a BA in Economics at Foreign Trade University in Vietnam. Before devoting her work full-time to Climate Bonds Initiative, Moonie served as a Corporate Client Relationship officer at JSC Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam – the biggest state-owned bank in Vietnam (based on total assets) and a lecturer and researcher at the Academy of Finance, Vietnam. She also has had a number of papers accepted for publications in indexed international journals. She is passionate about sustainable development and green finance, which brought her to Climate Bonds Initiative.

Moonie is based in Hanoi, Vietnam.
