2016 proved to be yet another strong year for green finance and after taking stock, it’s time to look ahead. 2017 is already off to a promising start as our CEO joins the European Commission's High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance and we launch the China Edition of our State of the Market series.
Climate Bonds CEO Sean Kidney has been appointed a member of the European Commission’s High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance, convened to “help develop an overarching and comprehensive EU strategy on sustainable finance to integrate sustainability in EU financial policy”. The Group is comprised of 20 people drawn from financial sector regulators, pension funds, investors, banks and other sectors, all with experience in sustainable finance.
2017 couldn’t have got off to a better start with the news that the much anticipated French Sovereign Green Bond issuance will begin its roadshow on the 6th of January.

Poland out the gate early for 2017's Year of Green Sovereign Bonds
Poland has just won the race to become the first ever sovereign to issue a green bond with a EUR 750m bond financing a range of climate-related projects.
