LONDON: 11:00 BST 21/10/2015: We are pleased to announce that major global asset manager Allianz Global Investors have become a Climate Bonds Partner today. The active investment manager manages €446bn (as of June 30, 2015) for institutional and retail investors and is also a signatory on the Climate Bonds Initiative’s Investor Statement re: green bonds and climate bonds.
Franck Dixmier, Global CIO Fixed Income at Allianz Global Investors said:
“Joining the Climate Bonds Initiative reflects our support for the development of the Green Bond market. We think Green Bonds represent a compelling opportunity to promote investment in climate-related solutions and better diversify and therefore better meet the needs of fixed income investors.
“Supporting the growth of this market, by joining together with Climate Bonds, is a way for us to play our role, not only as the partner of our clients, but also, as a responsible investor, for the sake of society and future generations.”
Climate Bonds CEO Sean Kidney said:
“Allianz has been actively involved with Climate Bonds Initiative and the green bond market for some time now; Allianz Global Investors is a signatory on our investor commitment to grow the green bonds market and Allianz Climate Solutions kindly hosted the international launch in Frankfurt of our ‘Bonds & Climate Change: the state of the market in 2015’ report earlier this year.
“We’re very pleased to be announcing our partnership with Allianz Global Investors and look forward to working together to grow the green bond market and promote investment in a low carbon economy.”
