SUCOFINDO receives Approved Verifier status under the Climate Bonds Standard

Boosting Indonesia’s sustainable finance ecosystem

Jakarta, Indonesia, 11/04/2025 SUCOFINDO, Indonesia’s leading inspection, testing, and certification company, has officially been trusted as an Approved Verifier under the Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme. This makes SUCOFINDO authorized to assess and verify green and sustainable bonds, supporting the growth of sustainable finance in the region.

As Indonesia solidifies its leadership in sustainable debt markets, the country has issued a cumulative USD16.2bn in green, social, sustainable and sustainability-linked bonds (GSS+) debt – including USD11.5bn in sovereign issuances. The country ranks as the third-largest sovereign issuer in the Asia-Pacific region, demonstrating strong momentum for climate-aligned finance.

Established in 1956 as Indonesia’s first inspection company, SUCOFINDO provides inspection, testing, certification, and consultancy services across industry sectors in agriculture, mining, energy, infrastructure, and transportation, that ensure compliance with national and international standards.

As a Climate Bonds Approved Verifier, SUCOFINDO will play a key role in verifying green bonds and climate-aligned projects and assets, helping issuers and investors contribute to a low-carbon economy.

Sean Kidney, CEO & Co-Founder, Climate Bonds Initiative

“SUCOFINDO’s expertise will strengthen Indonesia’s capacity to scale up sustainable finance and meet global climate goals. With Indonesia already emerging as a regional leader in GSS+ debt, this partnership will further accelerate market growth and support issuers in accessing green finance.”
