Head of Technical Assistance and Capacity Building

With a career that spans more than 28 years, predominantly in corporate advisory; with work experience in six countries throughout Asia, the Middle East, and the Indian sub-continent. Zalina has been a strong advocate for sustainable finance in the last eight years.

Her primary area of strength is market development through positioning and creating opportunities for new markets and product innovation. In her last role with the Securities Commission Malaysia, she was pivotal in the creation of capacity development programs that looked at building the financial sector’s technical expertise and experience in sustainable finance. A major focus was also to support industry and regulator’s effort to build recognition of Islamic Finance as responsible finance.
She holds an MBA in Finance from CASS Business School of the UK and is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA).

Claire Austin works in the communications team, and is responsible for managing the creation of content and messaging to key audiences such as international networks, donors, and other supporters. She works to maintain and grow the organisation's position within the sustainable finance space, raising awareness of CBI’s work, building key communities, and driving income generation through specific engagement activity.

Senior Analyst

Assisted in delivering over USD 300bn Use of Proceeds debt instruments that are consistent with the goal of limiting global warming to at or below 1.5°C future. Working across a variety of sectors from Renewable Energy, Low Carbon Buildings, Low Carbon Transport and more recently, Transition of the hard-to-abate sectors such as Steel, Cement, Hydrogen and Basic Chemicals. An expert in reviewing assurance reports and frameworks for projects in these sectors. In 2023, the Certification team at CBI, expanded their scope of practice to include Entity and Sustainability linked-bond (SLB) and Sustainability linked-loan (SLL) certifications. This is a world first in the green finance space which continues to demonstrate the highest standards of climate integrity and credibility to the market whilst increasing visibility to investors. Currently completing the CFA in Climate and Investing.

Marian Alejandra Rodriguez

Head of Standards

Marian Rodriguez joined Climate Bonds in 2021 as a Senior Sustainability Analyst, developing scientific criteria for industrial sectors to ensure that decarbonization projects and industry assets contribute to climate change mitigation. In 2023, she took responsibility as the Industry Lead in the Standard Team, managing the industrial sectors, including chemicals, steel, cement, and hydrogen production,managing technical advisory groups involving key stakeholders to establish science-based standards. In 2024, she was appointed as the Head of Standards, responsible for the direction and deliverables of the Standards team, defining its strategy, overseeing and guiding the delivery of its program of work, establishing internal and external partnerships to guide it, and helping to secure funding to resource it. 

Marian has a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Colombia and a Master’s in Environment and Resource Management from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She has 10 years of work experience in the chemical industry, process engineering, technical and commercial advice, industry research, and business development. She also worked for The Netherlands Organisation of Applied Research (TNO), assessing industrial processes and proposing decarbonisation alternatives. Marian was part of the MIDDEN project (Manufactury Industry Decarbonisation Data Exchange Network) led by TNO and PBL (The Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency). She participated in a fellowship program on Hydrogen and Power-to-X developed by Agora Industry in Berlin in 2024.

Marian has been a technical advisor in different national green taxonomies, including Mexico, Thailand, Singapore, and Australia taxonomies, and is also part of a Technical Working Group of the Green Hydrogen Organisation. She is passionate about sustainability, nature, and animals and loves to impact the environment and society positively.
