Mizuho Securities Joins Climate Bonds Partners Programme

Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Koichi Iida, hereafter “Mizuho Securities”) has joined the Climate Bonds Partner Programme to help expand the green bond market.

Green bonds significantly contribute to building a sustainable society in terms of substantial reduction of greenhouse gas emissions needed to achieve the 2℃goal set under the Paris Agreement, support efforts to take climate action, create a low carbon society and protect biodiversity, as listed in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Mizuho Securities has taken initiative to encourage development of a local and global green bond market having acted as the book runner and green bond structuring agent which was the first model case in the Ministry of the Environment’s FY2017 program to create green bond issuance models.

Through the participation in the Climate Bonds Partners Programme, we will contribute to thedevelopment of an eco-friendly, sustainable society by contributing in expanding green bond markets.
