The Climate Bonds Initiative and Daiwa Securities invite you to the webinar “Development of
taxonomies worldwide and their impact on Japan” on 5 August 2021, Thursday, which will provide
insights into the latest development of sustainable finance in Japan, as it continues to ramp up
efforts in green finance and the transition to a low carbon economy.

In October 2020, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga announced Japan’s commitment to net-
zero emissions by 2050. This represents a key milestone for the country which aligns its climate
ambition with that of many European countries. Japan is also one of three East Asian countries,
alongside South Korea and China, to formally commit to net zero targets.
