Certification

The Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme is a labelling scheme for bonds, loans & other debt instruments. Rigorous scientific criteria ensure that it is consistent with the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement to limit warming to under 2 degrees. The Scheme is used globally by bond issuers, governments, investors and the financial markets to prioritise investments which genuinely contribute to addressing climate change.

 

China Construction Bank

 

 

 

China Construction Bank is one of the largest banks in China and globally. This bond will refinance loans that they have made to companies that have build projects in the relevant Sector Criteria.

For example, the loan portfolio includes loans made to a 344km electrified railway, a 200MW wind farm and a sewage treatment plant.

The 2018 bond was issued through their Luxembourg branch.

The 2019 bond was issued through their Hong Kong branch.

The 2020 bond was issued through their Hong Kong branch.
