Laos Green Finance Taxonomy

A Major Step for Green Finance in Laos.

The Bank of the Lao PDR, in collaboration with IFC - International Finance Corporation, Climate Bonds Initiative and Ambire Global, is leading efforts to shape the future of sustainable finance in Laos.

Between 11-14 March, a mission in Vientiane brought together key stakeholders to discuss the Laos Green Finance Taxonomy. Through a stakeholder consultation workshop and bilateral meetings, government ministries, international organisations, and private sector representatives worked together to build a roadmap for green investments.

The mission also gathered a lot of insights and data useful for the development of the taxonomy framework which will provide an overview of the Laos green Finance taxonomy, set clear priorities for sectoral assessments and technical screening criteria methodology.
