We help build and refine Taxonomies

Our Taxonomy Team assists governments and institutions in creating science-based, interoperable and robust taxonomies that support Paris-aligned investments.   

We work closely with governments, international organisations, multilateral development banks, development agencies, regulators, and local experts to ensure each taxonomy is tailored to its specific context, while promoting global interoperability.  

List of Services

> Policy implementation and sequencing

Advice on the governance structure and content of the taxonomy. Delivery of taxonomy implementation projects including, amongst others, the design of policy tools, green procurement processes, treasury budget tagging, portfolio review and pilot projects involving financial institutions.  

> Pilot projects with financial institutions and policymakers

Development of user tools, budget tagging methodologies, implementation guides, and pilot programmes for effective taxonomy use and uptake.

> Training and Technical Assistance

Technical support for the development, revision and expansion of national and regional taxonomies, including the development of Technical Screening Criteria (Substantial Contribution, Do No Significant Harm, Social Safeguards), alignment with international frameworks, and coordination of Technical Working Groups (TWGs) or equivalent.
