ERM CVS expands global Climate Bonds verification scope

Through consolidation of ERM-acquired entities, new verifier capabilities strengthen global capacity to support credible, science-aligned climate finance

London, 04 March 2026, 9am — Climate Bonds Initiative is pleased to announce that ERM Certification and Verification Services (ERM CVS) has expanded its role as an Approved Verifier under the Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme to include the governance of its climate bond services from its Australian and Brazilian entities. 

The inclusion of these locations in the Climate Bonds Verifiers Directory enhances ERM Groups ability to consistently support issuers in multiple key markets and regions seeking independent verification under the Climate Bonds Standard, a widely recognized science-based framework for credible sustainable finance.  

Approved Verifiers play a vital role in the bond Certification process, assessing whether proposed instruments meet the rigorous requirements needed to obtain Climate Bonds Certification and once the bonds are issued to ensure that the proceeds are allocated as intended. 

ERM CVS and ERM have unified all Climate Bonds work under a single global agreement with the Climate Bonds Initiative. Since first becoming an Approved Verifier in 2018, ERM CVS, as the independent verification and conformity assessment arm of the ERM Group, has delivered accredited third-party verification and assurance services under this unified global governance structure. In parallel, ERM continues to provide global Second Party Opinions, boosted by the acquisition of former Climate Bonds verifier NINT and delivering from its Centre of Excellence based in Brazil.
