Sustainable Finance and Transition Planning to Reduce Methane Emissions in Oil & Gas
Event details
Sustainable Finance and Transition Planning to Reduce Methane Emissions in Oil & Gas is organised by Climate Bonds Initiative, focused largely on the ASEAN region. The workshop will be held on 21 & 22 April 2026 through an online delivery, providing individuals in financial institutions, banking and Oil & Gas sectors with the latest knowledge and tools to incorporate methane abatement strategies into their operational practices and financial planning.
This workshop will focus on existing and emerging sector criteria developed by Climate Bonds in methane-relevant sectors. It will cover the use of taxonomies, transition plans, and strategies for effectively incorporating methane into transition plans. Additionally, the workshop will explore how labelled bonds and other sustainable finance instruments can be used to more cost-effectively finance methane abatement actions.
The workshop will be highly interactive with an immersive programme, enabling participants to learn practical strategies for integrating methane abatement into transition plans and utilising investment frameworks and taxonomies to align with international standards and improve access to funding. Through the workshop, you will develop strategies to mobilise finance for methane reduction projects, contributing to measurable emission reductions and enhanced climate resilience. The working language of the workshop will be in English.
