Madhur Mehta

Madhur spent 16 years at Standard Chartered Bank as Managing Director and Global Head of Financial Institutions Debt Capital Markets, leading capital raising for banks, insurers and asset managers in global and local markets, including the first Basel III Tier 1 transaction in Asia, for UOB. His role included interacting with regulators on Basel 3 policy on Tier 1 and 2, as well as synthetic risk transfer. Earlier in his career, he held debt capital markets roles at JPMorgan Chase in New York and Hong Kong, and advised the governments of Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines on capital raising and debt management following the Asian Financial Crisis. He is now CEO of The Ace Group (India) and works with Avenia Partners (UAE), advising financial institutions, companies and boards on capital raising, business development and sustainable finance across the Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia. Over three decades, he has structured and led more than USD100bn in transactions across 16 markets and currencies, and has contributed practical insights for recent research by OECD on scaling up blended finance for sustainable development.
