Certification of entities
Entity Certification verifies that a company or group of companies aligns with the Climate Bonds Sector Criteria and meets the Transition Plan and disclosure requirements outlined in the Climate Bonds Standard. Certification serves as an endorsement of an entity’s green credentials and its commitment to sustainability.
What can be certified?
Entities offering nonfinancial goods or services that:
- Are aligned with Climate Bonds Sector Criteria at the time of certification or are expected to align by 2030.
- Meet the requirements for a Transition Plan and disclosures.
Who can apply?
- A company, a group of companies, or a segment thereof.
Certification process
Entity Certification offers two levels:
- Level 1: Entities already aligned with 1.5°C pathways.
- Level 2: Entities with transition plans that predict alignment with 1.5°C pathways by 2030.
Certification details:
- The Certification label validates the entity’s green credentials and its transition plan.
- Certification is valid for five years with annual external verification by a Climate Bonds Approved Verifier.
Application requirements
Applicants must submit the following documents to certification@climatebonds.net:
- Information Form
- Signed Certification Agreement
- Verification Report, including the relevant checklist
