Climate Bonds CONNECT 2025 - Asia-Pacific Conference Hong Kong

The Climate Bonds CONNECT APAC Conference 2025 was held on Thursday, 11 September, at the Maritime Museum in Central, Hong Kong.

Hosted by the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI) and supported by key partners such as AIIB, Amundi, BNP Paribas, Standard Chartered, and Civic Exchange, this flagship event focused on strengthening Asia’s role in scaling sustainable finance, transforming transition ambitions into concrete actions, and fostering cross-border collaboration to mobilise capital for emerging markets and advance decarbonization frameworks.

The conference brought together influential stakeholders from the global sustainable finance community. With its broad support base, the event explored how to scale green and sustainable finance across the Asia-Pacific region, with an emphasis on the expansion of the GSS+ investable universe, the operationalisation of transition finance, and the advancement of Adaptation and Resilience frameworks.

Experts also discussed the future of sustainable finance, highlighting Hong Kong’s catalytic role in shaping the region’s green finance landscape. A high-level roundtable explored Hong Kong’s integration with Mainland China and global markets, while emphasising the role of taxonomies in developing green sectors across industries such as shipping, manufacturing, ICT, and agriculture.

The second Hong Kong Green Week took place from 8 to 12 September 2025. Themed “Forging a Sustainable Future Together,” the city’s flagship sustainability event offered stakeholders across the globe a platform for dialogue and collaboration when it was most needed. Business and financial leaders, policymakers, industry specialists, and scholars from around the world came together in Hong Kong to explore viable solutions to facilitate energy transition, build climate resilience, accelerate climate technology development, and address other pressing sustainability challenges of our times.
