Introduction
Climate Bonds New Delhi CONNECT: Launch of the India Resilient Finance Initiative (IRFI)
India is facing a rapidly growing climate adaptation challenge. While climate finance flows have increased significantly in recent years, the majority continues to be directed toward mitigation. Yet building climate resilience across agriculture, water systems, cities, health infrastructure and disaster management will require an estimated USD100bn annually through 2030.
The challenge is not simply one of capital availability. It is about creating the frameworks, partnerships, investment pipelines and market confidence needed to mobilise finance at scale.
To help address this challenge, Climate Bonds Initiative is launching the India Resilient Finance Initiative (IRFI), a new platform designed to bring together policymakers, investors, issuers, development finance institutions, technical experts and market practitioners to accelerate adaptation and resilience finance across India.
Join us in New Delhi on 29 September for the official launch of IRFI as part of the CONNECT event series.
Why attend?
India has already laid important foundations through initiatives such as the National Action Plan on Climate Change, the forthcoming National Adaptation Plan, and the draft Climate Finance Taxonomy Framework. However, financing adaptation remains fragmented, with challenges around standardisation, project preparation, pipeline development and investor engagement.
This high-level dialogue will explore how stakeholders can work together to:
- Develop credible and scalable adaptation finance markets.
- Strengthen alignment between policy frameworks and investment needs.
- Improve access to capital for resilience-focused projects.
- Build investment pipelines across priority sectors.
- Establish practical approaches to identifying, classifying and financing adaptation investments.
- Create stronger connections between issuers, investors and policymakers.
Be part of building India's resilient future
The transition to a climate-resilient economy requires more than capital. It requires collaboration, credible frameworks, investable pipelines and shared leadership across the public and private sectors.
Join us in New Delhi on 29 September to help shape the future of adaptation and resilience finance in India and become part of a growing movement to unlock investment for a more resilient future.
