Introduction
As part of the Climate Adaptation Innovation and Learning Series, the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), Standard Chartered and Climate Bonds will co-host a morning briefing at Ashurst’s London office during London Climate Action Week, focused on advancing Adaptation and Resilience (A&R) in financial taxonomies.
The event will officially launch the forthcoming UNEP FI publication, “Adaptation Finance Taxonomy Playbook”, which translates existing adaptation taxonomy approaches and guidance into practical, decision-useful tools to support financial institutions operating across different jurisdictions. The Playbook, developed with technical support from Cadlas, also features a range of real-world case studies to help institutions effectively apply adaptation taxonomies in practice.
In addition, Climate Bonds will present the latest updates to its Resilience Taxonomy, alongside new supporting materials designed to enhance usability and clarity for financial institutions, multilateral development banks, and policymakers. Recent enhancements include a revised methodology addressing Do No Significant Harm and maladaptation, as well as a more user-friendly online tool.
The event will conclude with a panel discussion on the implementation of adaptation taxonomies, bringing together taxonomy users, including Standard Chartered and C40 Cities, to share their practical experiences, challenges, and lessons learned.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Climate Adaptation Innovation and Learning is financed by the Global Environment Facility and implemented by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in partnership with Climate-KIC, the Global Adaptation & Resilience Investment Working Group (GARI), and United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI).
