China has finally released its new Green Bond Endorsed Project Catalogue (2021 Edition) - an important milestone. Now eyeing for the space of the EU Taxonomy and the Common Ground Taxonomy between China and the EU. https://lnkd.in/gA5crKS

Thanks for sharing!!! Nice easy reading in comparison with the EU Taxonomy, but I am at loss how to interpret new wording of hydropower-related items: what is "large"? what is "划等规划的重点大型水电项目"? Never heard of a large dam built without being written into some development plan. In the first edition they listed final list of specific large projects.Does this new flexible wording imply new projects added or just some old projects gone irrelevant? And finally "对生态环境无重大影响前提下" when used for 大型水电项目 is an oxymoron (large dam with small footprint)...I wonder what evidence will help them to comply with this requirement. Do I understand correctly that absolutely no requirements are attached to already existing hydropower (e.g. in case of modernization projects) ? Cheers!!! EAS RwB

In the absence of an English version, do we know what changes have been made since the last version?

The new China Catalogue incorporates language around Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) principle (coming from the EU Taxonomy) and also indicates the future possibilities of rolling out "transition finance" standard.
