Jay is a purpose-driven climate, urban planning and ESG specialist with over ten years of experience across sustainable finance, adaptation and resilience planning, climate risk, ESG reporting, and net-zero strategy, spanning infrastructure, asset management, financial services, consulting, maritime, and public sectors.

Before joining Climate Bonds, Jay held roles at PGIM Global Asset Management, Purus Clean Energy, ICLEI, Darashaw and PwC, working across climate finance, taxonomies, climate action plans, GHG emission inventory, climate risk, ESG reporting, and urban infrastructure across India, Europe, Africa, and the UK.

Jay has a strong applied interest in AI-powered analysis and has developed a range of tools and dashboards covering ESG reporting, climate risk assessment, and resilience and adaptation planning, making complex climate data more accessible and actionable for investors and institutions.

Jay holds the Sustainability and Climate Risk certification (SCR®) from GARP, a Master's in Sustainable Infrastructure Planning and Engineering from CEPT University and has completed funded sustainability programmes at the University of Cambridge and Keele University. He is a STEM Climate Ambassador across the UK, a Youth Contact Point for the Adaptation and Cities Working Group at YOUNGO under the UNFCCC, and a UNDP Movers Programme Envoy.

Outside of work, Jay finds his balance in travel to various new places across the world and the natural world from mountain trails to coastal landscapes and in giving back to vulnerable communities. He is also a keen cricket player and board game enthusiast.
