Resilience Taxonomy Manager

Taxonomy

Dr. Courtnae Bailey is a climate adaptation and resilience (A&R) planning and finance expert. She has over 8 years of experience working in corporate sustainability and with NGOs, non-profits, and developing country governments to create A&R strategies and enabling environments for A&R investments.

Courtnae always loved nature as she grew up in a farming community.  After developing a better understanding of the impacts that climate change was having and would further have on climate-vulnerable countries such as her own, she focused her attention on finding solutions for the most vulnerable countries, sectors, and social groups.

She holds a PhD in Environmental Policy, which investigated the role of sustainability-linked loans and bonds in increasing private investment in adaptation and resilience. She also holds an MSc in Climate Change Management and Finance, an MSc in Hydrology and Water Resources Management, and a BSc in Mathematics and Earth Science.

Before joining Climate Bonds, Courtnae was an Adaptation Finance Associate at the World Resources Institute (WRI) and a Programme Manager with the Coalition for Climate Resilient Investment (CCRI).  She remains committed to finding innovative solutions to increase financial flows and investment for A&R, using her multidisciplinary background in science, engineering, and finance. Her role as Climate Resilience Taxonomy Manager allows her to continue driving the development of these solutions.
