Michael is Agri-food Systems Manager. He coordinates the Technical and Industry Working Groups and related project management and stakeholder engagement activities in the sector, helping to drive the development of low-carbon, climate resilient, sustainable agriculture.
He has 25 years experience of agricultural policy analysis and rural development programme management, including 15 years as an official of the European Commission, operating from Brussels headquarters and various field stations.
His expertise covers project design, procurement and supervision of technical cooperation, institutional capacity building, stakeholder engagement, development of farm advisory services and knowledge transfer, and implementation of measures that target investment in sustainable agriculture and climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Michael possesses a bachelor's degree in agriculture, a master's in agricultural economics and a Fellowship of the Institute of Agricultural Management (FIAgrM).
