Ali Salman Andani is an economic and political analyst, and an opinion columnist and commentator for various prominent media outlets. He has contributed to Hong Kong-based Asia Times, UAE-based Alaan TV, India-based Times of India, The Economic Times, India Today (DailyO), EU-based Modern Diplomacy and others. In his writings, he has covered economic, political and social issues, especially those related to China's One Belt One Road (OBOR), China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), global financial markets, emerging market economies, international relations, democracy, human rights and climate change. His work has been cited by many internationally recognized authors, publishers, think tanks and research centres, including the Oxford University Press (OUP), Hudson Institute (United States), Leiden Asia Centre (Netherlands), and others.


Ali has a passion for economics. His areas of interest in microeconomics and macroeconomics include monetary economics, fiscal policy, public finance, international finance, international trade, economic growth, development economics, econometrics, mathematical economics and economic research.

Ali is quite passionate about analyzing and advocating for the use of monetary policy, fiscal policy, financial regulations and public finance tools for climate change mitigation and adaptation.

Ali is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree (BSc) in Economics. He has also completed a program called 'Understanding European Union (EU) - Russia Relations: Foreign Policy Actors, Institutions and Policy' from the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies of the University of Tartu (Estonia).
