Green Infrastructure Investment Coalition, India Forum: EESL and energy efficiency, invitation to investor roundtable this Friday: First GIIC Report 'Green Finance in India' 30th June Launch

GIIC India Forum, London Stock Exchange

The Green Infrastructure Investment Coalition (GIIC) is convening its first country focused forum on the 30th of June at the London Stock Exchange. Institutional investors and infrastructure project developers will come together to discuss the green financing opportunities in the rapidly expanding Indian market.

Space is limited so priority access will be given to asset owners, fund managers and infrastructure investors. For more information please contact us via email.

EESL Roundtable - You're invited!

As a warm up to the India forum, the Green Infrastructure Investment Coalition (GIIC) is organising a roundtable with the largest energy services company in the world, Energy Efficiency Services Company (EESL).

This roundtable will allow investors and industry experts to gain an understanding of the USD 12b market for energy efficiency initiatives in India. Discussion will include green infrastructure and finance opportunities in one of the world’s largest economies.

With a pipeline of projects worth approximately USD 2b, EESL provides a unique perspective into future energy efficiency trends and markets in India.

The roundtable will take place at 3.30pm this Friday, at EY’s London Bridge office. If you are interested in attending, please register on Eventbrite here.

India Report to be presented at GIIC India Forum

In collaboration with USAID, Climate Bonds Initiative is co-authoring a GIIC Report that gives an overview of the Indian green finance and investment landscape, prepared to coincide with the India Forum.

The report will outline:

  • India’s infrastructure investment needs
  • The barriers to scaling up investment
  • How to address these barriers
  • The opportunities for investors in the green finance space

Input for this brief has come from a number of Indian financial institutions and funding has been provided by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). This overview report will be made available to forum participants as a basis for discussion.

A series of in-depth reports on prospects for green finance in India will also be released in the coming months by the Climate Bonds Initiative.
