Green bonds on agenda at RI Americas, 10 Dec 2014 in NYC- features two Climate Bond Standards Board members

There will be a ‘green bonds insight’ event at the Responsible Investor Americas 2014 conference on 10 December from 12:15 to 16:00. Folks from sell & buy sides, local governments and NGOs will discuss:

  • Green bonds: how the finance works and what they fund.
  • Issuers' perspectives
  • Are green and ESG bonds about to take off in North America

Two Climate Bonds Standard board participants will be speaking; Bettina Redway, the Deputy Treasurer of California (Green Bonds: Issuers' perspectives) and Douglass Sims, Director of Strategy and Finance at the NRDC (Green and ESG bonds prospects in North America).

DC Water CFO Mark Kim, a member of the Climate Bonds Standard Water Infrastructure Technical Working Group, will be presenting the issuer’s perspective at the Green bonds: how the finance works and what they fund session; and Lenoar Suki from Climate Bonds Partner Bloomberg will be speaking in the Are green and ESG bonds about to take off in North America.

It'll be interesting to hear if NYC Deputy Comptroller Carol Kostic, also speaking, is going to tell us when they will go to market with ther mooted green bond.
